dance canyengue tango to El Chamuyo. Rudolfo learned to dance canyengue from his father when he was 7 or 8 years old and is attributed with preserving canyengue from some of its original dancers. He did not dance the dance for 60 years. Then one night he had a dream of his father. He asked him why he was not dancing and teaching the canyengue. He awoke with a vivid recollection of the dance and the steps his father had taught him. The first people he taught was Marta Anton and "El Gallego" Manolo, our teachers and mentors of the dance.
